In this lecture, we provide the fundamentals around why A.I & Machine Learning are useful, and then go on to describe the technologies such that offer the means to rapidly innovate with A.I and finish by providing example projects & applications created by these technologies
John is a member of the Senior Inventor community Leadership Team in IBM Hursley, where he supports the growth of inventor talent within the labs and creates an environment designed to foster innovation. Prior to his new role leading the IBM University Program in the UK, John was the Technical Leader and an Expert Certified Technical Specialist in the IBM Hursley's Innovation Centre, driving innovation with Business Partners, utilising methodologies such as Design thinking, while employing IBM technologies such as Watson and IBM Cloud.
John also has a decade worth of experience as a world wide technical consultant. This role included leading pilot projects utilising emergent technologies, competitive Proof of Concepts and supporting technical sales opportunities, in industries ranging from Insurance and Banking, to Pharmaceutical and Defence.
John holds a number of patents ranging from process design, A.I, to metal fatigue prediction and published papers in artificial intelligence.
