Paul is a very experienced software development manager, with over 30 years in the IT Industry. Mainly based in IBM’s Hursley location, near Winchester.

Over the course of his career to date, Paul has held a variety of different senior leadership roles within IBM. Ranging from software development to business management, software strategy and marketing. He spent 18 months on assignment in New York, managing a business partner team of software engineers on contract to IBM and a further three years on assignment to IBM HR.

Paul’s interest in university relations, skills, diversity and recruitment stretch back 25 years. He was the IBM University Relations, Top Talent and Management Development Manager for the IBM UK Labs and also represented IBM on the Industrial Advisory Boards at both Oxford University (Software Engineering) and Edinburgh University (Engineering).

He is currently the Relationship Manager for Southampton University, a role he has held for the last 17 years and the Industry Chair of the Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) Industrial Advisory Board.
Prior to moving to his current role, Paul was a senior manager within IBM’s software development business, responsible for the Development Services, Marketing, Offering Management and Design of one of IBM’s key mainframe middleware products, CICS.

Paul is a science graduate and alumnus of Southampton University Management School, a Fellow of the BCS and a PMI Professional.
