Thorsten leads the automotive and electronics segment for IBM in Germany. He has a deep understanding of the key marketplace opportunities and challenges facing industrial manufacturers. He consults extensively with senior executives as they look to digitize, optimize and transform their organizations, manufacturing and business models applying leading edge technology around Watson, cloud, analytics and mobility. Through global relationships, market expertise and deep industry insights, Thorsten help firms improve product development, enhance collaboration, increase speed to market and reduce costs to sustain operational excellence and profit in today’s highly competitive marketplace
Thorsten has spent more than 20 years assisting companies in their use of information technology to solve their business problems and gain competitive advantage. In his previous executive roles he led globally the Watson IoT for Manufacturing solution portfolio, he led IBM Electronics business in Europe and before that he led the operations and supply chain practice within IBM’s center of competence for the electronics industry.
Thorsten became member of the IBM industry academy in 2016, IBM’s group of most eminent and innovative industry visionaries. He is also an active conference speaker and an active member of the council of Supply Chain Management (CSCMP) in Europe.
Mr. Schroeer holds an Masters degree for Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Dortmund and a Masters degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, USA.
