Hello World - Best practices for your cloud-based database application
Abstract
Want to build a cloud app with Db2 or another database system? Here are the best practices covering deployment options, security, performance, monitoring and more. Henrik is going to take a look at Kubernetes, Cloud Foundry and serverless Cloud Functions, then detail what needs to be considered for security to protect app and database. He concludes with performance recommendation and how to monitor the app status.

Henrik Loeser works closely with business partners and clients to help them succeed with IBM Cloud, Db2 and other products. Right now he receives his paycheck as technical offering manager and developer advocate for IBM Cloud. In a past life Henrik was development manager and technical lead for components of Db2 at IBM's Silicon Valley Lab. Henrik speaks frequently at conferences, at customer sites and user group meetings.
He holds both a Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Computer Science from the University of Kaiserslautern, Germany. He is an Open Group-certified Distinguished IT Specialist and teaches at the Cooperative State University (DHBW) Ravensburg / Friedrichshafen.
