What exactly is Site Reliability Engineering (SRE)?

Ingo Averdunk

This presentation will introduce the topic of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), a relatively new approach to operations. Fundamentally, it's what happens when you ask a software engineer to design an operations function. After a general introduction to SRE, we will present examples how SRE is applied within IBM and within clients. We will describe the lessons learned transforming enterprises towards an SRE-oriented operations function.
