Using Watson for Innovation with Articial Intelligence
Abstract
In this lecture, the concepts Artificial Intelligence (AI), Cognitive Computing, Machine Learning and Deep Learning are clearly defined and illustrated. Next, different focus categories of AI are discussed: Conversational Services, Knowledge Search and Smart Extensions. Each of the categories is illustrated with use cases and put in practice with demonstrations using the Watson AI technologies. Sample Watson APIs that are demonstrated are: Watson Assistant, Watson Discovery, Watson Knowledge Studio, Watson Tone Analyzer, Watson Speech-to-Text and Text-to-Speech, Watson Visual Recognition. An important aspect is the link with the Data Science profession and its value for AI. Demonstrations with Watson Studio and Watson Machine Learning put this in evidence. In short: participants leave this session with a strong conceptual knowledge as well as a view on the practical application of the concepts. And ... as a nice to have, the link with Quantum Computing is explained !
