Zaki is an inspiring manager at the biggest Systems/TSS Client Innovation Center in IBM and currently part of the University Relations program in Bulgaria. As having more than 10 years in the IT industry, being an engineer, people manager and an inspiring leader, Zaki is motivated to share his experience, expertise and passion to another students and help them grow. The lecture will provide you a basic overview on what we are doing in IBM as a company, what is the flow of an usual day of our experts and will give you essential introduction to the key technical and soft skills needed to kick of your career in the IT industry. The lecture is suitable for students at universities and high schools, that are at the early stage of their career path/education and are willing to get more oriented in the job roles and skills required to work in a global company.
My name is Zaki Abdulrahim and I started my career back in 2011 as Network Operation Engineer in a small Bulgarian company called ITD network (AKA Coolbox).
I joined the Big Blue also known as IBM back in the beginning of 2012 as Internal IT (IGA) assisting all personal with support on their machines and the overall network connectivity of the different locations.
I had the great opportunity to start as Remote Storage Engineer for the USA market in end of 2013 and give beginning for Client Innovation Center. In 2014 I was recognized as focal point in Sofia and later in the year as Subject Matter Expert for DS3-5K product set.
I was formally promoted to a TL role in 2015 within the same team that I was already part of.
In 2016 I was picked up as one of the EMEA Storage Managers and since then I had managed variety of teams locally and remotely.
Currently my focus is on the BeNeLux market as Market Segment Leader for the IBM Storage portfolio.
